• Parent were possibly sea gods, Poseidon and Tethys
• Some say she’s a goddess
• May also be referred to as the goddess of silence because she lived alone
• Might have had 2 children with Odysseus, Nausithous and Nausinous
• Offered to take him immortal if Odysseus would remain
• She helped sailors during turbulent weather.
• Even though in the book Odysseus left her she still helped him in the end.
